Holy Trinity Church
A Victorian Gem Serving the Calverhall Community
Holy Trinity Church, a Grade II* listed building, stands proudly in the centre of Calverhall and has served local families for generations. Originally built as a modest brick chapel around 1726, it was completely rebuilt in 1843 thanks to the local patronage of the Pemberton-Heywood family. It was later extended in the 1870s by the well-known architect William Eden-Nesfield.
Today, Holy Trinity is admired for its beautiful Grinshill stonework, elegant Gothic style, pretty stained glass windows by Clayton & Bell, and well-preserved Victorian fittings. Visitors also notice the lychgate, stone boundary walls and historic almshouses adjacent - all adding to the charm of the village.
Holy Trinity is part of the AMICA Benefice (Ash, Moreton Say, Ightfield, Calverhall, Adderley) and holds regular Holy Communion, Morning Prayer, and seasonal services, as well as bell-ringing every Wednesday evening from 7pm onwards.
