Summer 2019
Welcome to the Ightfield Parish Council webpages on the planning, fund raising and development of a safe, healthy and scenic pathway connecting Calverhall and Ightfield. The Parish Council has formed a Steering Group involving different community stakeholders and local organisations to secure the building of the Footpath. These pages will report the latest news, development and Steering Group meetings. Please return to this website on a regular basis and read how we are progressing and how you can get involved.
There will be regular Steering Group Meetings. The minutes of these meetings will be the main format to share and distribute the details of Steering Group membership, the latest updates and actions.
Steering Group Meeting Minutes
At the Extraordinary Meeting of Ightfield Parish Council held on 31st July 2020, it was RESOLVED to seek the approval of the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local Government to apply for a PWLB loan of £ 10,000 over the borrowing term of 1 year for the creation of a community footpath to link the villages of Ightfield and Calverhall. After later advice from the Ministry, the terms were revised to 2 years, with subsequent approval from the Parish Council members. This is a reduction from a previous resolution in June 2019 to apply for £40,000 loan over 40 years. The annual loan repayments for this revised amount will come to around £4120 at a cost of £150 per year. It is not intended to increase the council tax precept for the purpose of the loan repayments.
